The HobbyZone^® AeroScout™ S is the perfect trainer because it makes learning to fly an RC airplane easier and more fun than ever before! It's equipped with exclusive SAFE^® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology that helps to prevent overcontrol, loss of orientation and crashes so nearly everyone can learn to fly successfully. Beginner, Intermediate and Experienced modes allow you to choose the level of stability and control you need, or are ready to try, at the flip of a switch. Plus you can instantly return to steady flight using Panic Recovery with the push of a button in any flight mode. Its unique "pusher" power configuration offers improved safety along with better propeller and motor protection, and its built with advanced EPO material that makes it extremely durable. Oversized tires and a steerable nose wheel make it easy to take off from and land on a variety of surfaces including grass at large parks, soccer and other suitable flying fields. The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version includes a Spektrum DXe controller/transmitter equipped with industry-leading DSMX^® 2.4GHz control technology, plus a Spektrum Smart LiPo battery and charger that make it easier and safer to charge. That means there's nothing extra you need to buy or provide before you can fly!

And the fun doesn't stop after you learn how to fly! The powerful and efficient brushless power system delivers long flight times and provides plenty of speed and power to perform aerobatic maneuvers including loops, rolls and even inverted (upside down) flight. The HobbyZone^® AeroScout™ S makes learning to fly an RC (radio controlled) airplane easier and more fun than ever before! It's the perfect trainer because it's very durable and is equipped with exclusive SAFE^® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology that helps to prevent overcontrol, loss of orientation and crashes so nearly everyone can learn to fly successfully. It also features Beginner, Intermediate and Experienced flight modes so you can choose the level of stability and control you need at the flip of a switch.

Spektrum Smart Battery and Charger

The RTF version includes a Spektrum 3S 2200mAh Smart LiPo battery that delivers long flight times, plus an S120 USB-C Smart charger that can be used with a variety of USB power sources. Simply connect the battery to the charger, and the exclusive Smart Technology will determine and start charging at the best rate to properly and safely charge the battery automatically.

Durable Design

The AeroScout's unique design and "pusher" power configuration helps to protect the propeller and motor while also offering improved safety. Plus its construction with advanced EPO material delivers a lightweight yet durable airframe that's tough enough to handle everyday flying punishment without getting bent out of shape. And in the unfortunate event you damage any airframe parts or components and can't repair them, a full line of replacement parts is readily available.

Easy Assembly

The AeroScout S 1.1m arrives mostly factory-assembled with the power system, receiver and servos installed. All you need to do is finish some quick and easy final assembly, without the use of glue or special tools, and you'll be ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery!

Capable Gear

The wide-stance tricycle landing gear with oversized tires and a steerable nose wheel offers improved ground handling for easier take offs and landings on a wide variety of surfaces from pavement to grass and even dirt.

Ready-To-Fly Convenience

This Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version includes a controller/transmitter equipped with Spektrum DSMX^® 2.4GHz technology and everything else you need to fly including AA batteries for the transmitter, a rechargeable lithium polymer battery for the airplane and a charger. That means there's nothing extra to buy or provide so you can fly! The included transmitter can also be used with other Bind-N-Fly^® (BNF) RC aircraft.

Learn to Fly Successfully with SAFE^® Technology

If this is your first RC airplane, or you want an extra margin of safety while familiarizing yourself with the controls, revolutionary and Horizon Hobby-exclusive SAFE^® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology prevents overcontrol, loss of orientation and crashes. It also offers multiple modes that deliver more control as your skills progress at the flip of a switch:

Beginner Mode

In this mode, the airplane has limited pitch (up/down) and bank (left/right) angles that prevent overcontrol which could lead to a loss of orientation and a crash. When the control sticks are released, the airplane automatically returns to level flight allowing you to relax and enjoy simply 'steering' the airplane through the sky. Best of all, takeoffs are as simple as giving full throttle and letting the airplane fly off a suitable surface, or by giving it a quick hand launch, and landings are as easy as lowering the throttle and letting it glide to a landing on its own.

Intermediate Mode

More freedom in pitch and bank, but still prevents overcontrol and does not return to level flight on its own. This mode allows you to make tighter turns in smaller areas and to climb and descend faster as your skills advance.

Being a relatively inexperienced Rc flyer i chose this as the next step towards more challenging flying
The smart safe features work really well and add confidence embarking on the maiden flight. The 3 modes are an excellent way to build my confidence, though not tried level 2 yet

Delivery
Once RC Hobbies has confirmed acceptance of the buyer's order, we will endeavor to dispatch the buyer's order within 1-3 Business days unless a different time frame is specified in relation to a particular product. If we are unable to dispatch the buyer's order within the time frame specified by RC Hobbies we will endeavor to contact the buyer and advise the buyer of the expected dispatch date.

In stock items are generally dispatched on the same day you place your order, unless a different time frame is specified in relation to a particular product and provided the order was placed before our daily cut off time which is usually around 1PM.

We use NZ Post, Aramex, and Post Haste for New Zealand orders. Deliveries are usually 2 working days, but please allow an extra day for big parcels to reach the South Island and for rural deliveries.

We use NZ Post for orders that can fit into overnight courier bags and Post Haste for larger parcels.

Tracking emails will be sent out once parcels have been collected.

The buyer may specify delivery instructions for an order (for example, the buyer may authorise the delivery agent to leave the products in a specified location if the buyer will not be at the delivery address). RC Hobbies will not be responsible for any order that is delivered in accordance with the buyer’s delivery instructions.

Delivery to PO Boxes
RC Hobbies can send goods to PO Boxes, except for large freight boxes.

Returns Policy

The item I received is not the item I ordered

Provided the item is unopened and in mint condition we’ll replace the item. To receive your replacement you must return the original item to. You will be provided with a no-cost return addressed courier satchel (or similar) and we will process your replacement within 1–3 days of receiving your item.

The item I ordered arrived faulty.

Please arrange with RC Hobbies to return the item for testing. If we confirm that the item was damaged before leaving RC Hobbies, or was faulty out of the box, your item will be repaired or if it cannot be repaired then it will be replaced by RC Hobbies Ltd free of charge. If the goods are faulty we will meet our obligations under the Consumers Guarantees Act to provide a remedy.

The item I ordered did not arrive

If your item did not arrive the first thing to do is request a “track and trace” on your item from the Courier Post or Fastway tracking emails we send out.

Alternatively you can call Courier Post on 0800 268 743 or Post Haste on 09 444 2950

If the “track and trace” on your order indicates that it has been delivered, but you’re unable to find it or it hasn’t been delivered within the timeframe we will start an investigation with Courier Post & Post Haste on your behalf.

Regrettably, neither RC Hobbies nor Courier Post & Fastway are able to refund or replace items that have been lost, damaged or stolen after being delivered to your property. If you are concerned about leaving your items unattended we recommend using “Signature Required” option which is our default option unless advise by the Buyer to use the “No Signature Required” option.

I've changed my mind and no longer want the item I ordered

Change of mind returns can be processed as long as it has been agreed by RC Hobbies and the item has been returned within 7 days of dispatch and is unopened and in mint condition. The shipping for the return will also be at the cost of the buyer. Once we have the item in hand we will assess the item and if everything checks out OK you will receive a Store Credit or refund less the restock fee and freight charges.

Restock fee

All goods ordered in error by the Customer or goods the Customer wishes to return are subject to a restock fee. The fee is 15% of the goods sales value. This applies if you change your mind, ordered it in error, unwanted Gift or just did not like it or did not suit you, so please choose carefully and read the descriptions in the listings as some products also require additional items to complete.
